As a long-time film photographer, I'm finding the transition to digital fraught with disaster.

I'll get there, eventually.

Close cropped head shot using studio flash refected off brolly.              Daylight with a reduced burst of on camera flash.

Above photos taken using a digital Fujifilm 9600 bridge camera at 100 asa/iso and chrome settings.

Below, scanning 25 year old 35mm colour negatives with the Canon 8800f flatbed scanner.

 Scanned with ScanGear.

Adjusted to 25% warmer and 50% sharper.

 Scanned with VueScan 9.

Automatically adjusted with Paint Shop Photo Pro.

This test was carried out when VueScan 9 was put forward to me as one of the best programmes for scanning negatives.

Personally I found it hard to navigate within this programme after using the Canon dedicated software.

I'll press on with my original setup for now as I see little or no advantage in changing.
